Not all materials conduct heat at the same rate. This simulation replicates the classic demonstration where pins are fixed to copper, aluminium and cast iron rods by blobs of wax: as the wax melts the pins fall. Note: this resource is no substitute for actually doing the experiment yourself in the lab!
