eChalk help
What is subscription?
When you subscribe you will be sent a username and password which will allow you to enter the member's area.
Here you will have full access to the entire eChalk archive across all subject areas. Resources are constantly being added to eChalk and our subscribers get access to them as soon as they are uploaded to the site.
This means your school's investment in eChalk is one that grows. Subscription is the best option for schools as there are no administration or deployment costs. All you need to access the subscription area is a web connection.
Subscription is renewed annually.
What is an "8 user subscription"?
When you subscribe you will choose the level of subscription you require. You need to decide how many people in your institution will use the eChalk resources.
A subscription for "8 simultaneous logins" will allow up to 8 people (at different computers and locations) to login at the same time.
All these people would use the same username and password to log-in to the eChalk member's area.
If you want all your staff and students to have unlimited access to eChalk, including added benefits such as linking to resources from your learning environment, then we recommend our "unlimited access for whole school" subscription level. See "What are the benefits of a top level subscription" below to find out more.
Can I choose my own username and password?
Yes, providing your desired username is not already in use. Your username and password must contain at least six characters.
When you subscribe you will be sent two sets of username and password. One set is for a "user account" and another for an "administrator's account".
When you login using the "user account" details you will be taken to the member's area with all the teaching resources.
When you login using the "administrator account" details you will be taken to a page that allows you to change your account details. Here you can alter your usernames and passwords.
What are the benefits of a top level subscription: unlimited access for whole school?
This subscription level is the most cost-effective way to resource all your staff and pupils with the software they need for engaging and motivating learning.
Advantages:
No limit to the number of people within your school that can access eChalk.
No password required within school making life easier for teachers, pupils and IT administrators.
Resources on the eChalk site can be directly linked to from the school learning environment (VLE) or intranet making it easy for teachers to incorporate eChalk resources in their lessons or setting tasks as homework.
Perfect for mobile learning in or out of the classroom with our tablet enabled content.
We are able to meet the access requirements of any school using a variety of methods. For example:
Via a link on your learning environment (Referrer URL access)
Using your school's IP address
Username and password access:
In addition to unlimited access provided by the methods above, you also have access via our standard method of username and password.
Do your resources work on an iPad, Android, Kindle Fire or other tablet?
Yes!
We're a big fan of 'bring your own device' (BYOD) for schools and we've worked hard to ensure you don't have to worry about what device every student has - it just works!
What's more, you don't need to worry about installing any apps, simply visit the eChalk website in your browser and login as normal regardless of the device you're using.
Please note: We recommend a minimum tablet size of 7" for the best experience using our resources.
Can I create links that take me directly to eChalk resources?
Yes, but the way you do this depends on your subscription level.
With our top level subscription, unlimited access for whole school, you can link to our resources as you would link to any other web page. If you're within the school this is all you need to do.
For any other subscription level (or if you're outside of the school with our unlimited whole school subscription) you must first login to eChalk using your username and password. This will take you to the eChalk welcome page. It is important to leave this page open in your browser window as while this page is open you remain logged in to eChalk. You can then open another browser window or tab and click on the link as you would normally.
How do I integrate eChalk's resources into our Moodle or school learning environment?
It's easy to integrate eChalk apps onto the web pages of your school VLE. Just contact

and we'll set you up in no time. What's more, students will be able to access the resources without the need to enter a username and password.
Note: This option is only available for our 'whole-school unlimited access' subscription package.
How do I pay by debit or credit card?
From the eChalk home page click on the "subscribe" button.
Go through the subscription process. When you are asked how you would like to pay click on the button that says "I want to pay online with a credit or debit card"
As soon as eChalk receives notification of your payment (usually within minutes) your account will be activated automatically and you will be sent your login details by e-mail.
Is purchasing from eChalk safe?
Yes! Purchasing from eChalk is fast, easy and most importantly, secure.
Before you enter any credit card details you will be transferred to a secure server that uses military strength encryption algorithms to ensure the security of the transaction. The credit card transaction will take place via PayPal's secure server (Note: you do not need to be a member of PayPal to buy these products).
PayPal is the global leader for on-line payments. Its tried and tested facility is used by millions of on-line buyers every day and is one of the most secure systems available.
I'm having trouble viewing the interactive resources. What can I do?
Our resources are designed to be headache free when it comes to the IT. They are built to work on all devices (including PCs, Macs, iPads and other tablets) without any additional installation or configuration.

Why does eChalk.co.uk also have the same educational content on a sister site called Lumpty.com?
While we have the right to use our eChalk trademark in most of the world, another company holds the trademark in the US. Lumpty.com contains the same content as eChalk.co.uk but it is rebranded for the American market in respect of trademark rights. So North American customers must use Lumpty.com while the rest of the world can subscribe to eChalk.co.uk.
